Regulations
Introduction
The Lotus Cup Europe aims to provide a friendly, safe and financially viable series for those wishing to race a Lotus Exige, Elise, 340R, 2 Eleven, Europa or Evora in Europe.
There are five classes within the Lotus Cup Europe 2012 series:
- Production: With factory specification engines and limited modifications permitted.
- 2-Eleven: Specifically aimed at the Toyota supercharged Lotus 2-Eleven circuit car.
- Exige Cup: Aimed at all Exige S2 variants – including the 2009 Lotus Exige Cup 260, Exige Cup 255, Exige Cup 240, Exige Cup 190 and Exige S.
- Lotus Open: For Lotus cars that do not fall into the above categories – including Elise S2 supercharged Toyota, Modified K series Elise S1, S2, 340R, Europa. Other Lotus cars may be accepted by invitation only.
- V6 Cup: For standard specification Evora and V6 Exige race cars.
A typical race meeting will involve a 20 minute Free Practice session followed by 20 minutes of qualifying. There will then be two races, one of 20 minutes and one of 30 minutes. Competitors in the Lotus on Track Elise Trophy will be invited to compete in the same races in the Production class. While Lotus Cup Europe drivers may also compete in Lotus Cup UK rounds to the same regulations if they wish.
